A Summer Urban New York City Wedding At Brooklyn Bridge Park

Bride getting makeup for New York City wedding at Brooklyn Bridge ParkWhen Lori and Dan contacted me to photograph their New York City wedding in their hometown of Brooklyn, I was all over it. From their very first email to me, I knew they were rad people. That was 100% confirmed once my wife Jessica and I met them in-person the first time for their Brooklyn engagement session. It’s no secret New York City is my favorite city and when you combine that with an epic wedding, well..it’s just an insanely awesome time. Lori and Dan’s wedding was highly focused on the most important thing, celebrating their relationship with their friends and family.

Emotions ran high early in the morning as everyone got ready for the day. Tears from many and laughing from all could be felt from the hallways of the hotel. They held their ceremony in Brooklyn Bridge Park in a slightly camouflaged area surrounded by the river, the Manhatten skyline, and many large trees. In the middle of the large green space was a circle of Lori and Dan’s closest friends. At the head of the circle, Dan patiently waited for Lori and her father to make their way through the circle. As I worked my way around the large circle, I’ve never seen so many smiling faces. 

The celebration didn’t stop there. After the ceremony, everyone made their way to Gran Electrica for the afternoon reception. Although it was early in the afternoon, that didn’t stop anyone from drinking, partying, and celebrating late into the evening. Dan being a DJ, the whole evening had an exceptionally curated list of great music to keep the whole atmosphere filled.
