GET TO KNOW – MATT
Hi, I’m Matt! Since we are going to be getting to know each other really well, I thought I would start. I have spent most of my life traveling and living in dozens of different states/cities due to my parents being in the military and experiencing life as a professional skateboarder. Atlanta, Georgia is now where I call home with my beautiful wife Jessica and rad son Mason (Mason on Instagram). We also have two adopted and extremely playful rescue schnauzers, Jetta and Little Bear.
I’m a high energy and extremely sarcastic type of person. I can be shy, but I’m not scared to strike up a conversation. My style, both in photography and life, is a little random, a little minimalistic, some work, some play, and a lot of awesome. I really like ice cream, but hate ice cream cones. I love to talk, and I am always fascinated by the stories people have to tell. I also have a slight obsession with traveling, learning, adventure, and technology.
I have a passion for shoes. In fact, I use to own over 200+ shoes! I know, crazy! I’ve since learned to compromise with Jessica. I love music. Pretty much all music….really. I’m often listening to My Chemical Romance, The Used, Jonny Cash, Eric Clapton, Chuck Berry, Peral Jam, Bill Withers, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Nirvana, Daft Punk, The Who, Run DMC, NAS, N.W.A., De La Soul, Beastie Boys, Wu-Tang, Simon & Garfunkel, Cat Stevens, some dope blues stuff, and even some good country and classical stuff. I don’t watch much TV or have cable, but when I do it’s typically The Big Bang Theory, The Walking Dead, The History Channel, and movies. Movies inspire my passion for storytelling and dramatic lighting. I also really enjoy history and science.
In my free time, I like to hang out with my family and friends, draw, paint, play the guitar, drums, video games, skateboard, work on Volkswagens / Audis, and design things that are cool, at least to me. I enjoy reading, non-fiction books and try to read one a month. I’m also a Podcast junkie listening to a lot of business and finance stuff, but also dig things like My Favorite Murder (who doesn’t love a great murder story!?), Stuff You Should Know, Stuff You Missed in History Class, The Cultcast, and tons more. Oh, I also love coffee, craft beer, and hot sauce. No…seriously…I really love coffee, craft beer, and hot sauce!! – Matt
GET TO KNOW – JESSICA
Hi! My name is Jessica. I’m Matt’s better half and office manager here at Matthew Druin & Co. Occasionally you might see me helping out or we’ll meet (I go on all the super cool travel trips, lol.), but I mostly stay behind the scenes. Aside from loving my husband, I love and adore our son Mason. In my spare time, I mostly hang out with our son and crazy dogs. I also enjoy my passion for makeup, youtube, and reality TV. – Jessica
GET TO KNOW – DAN
Hey guys, I’m Dan! I live in Alpharetta, Georgia, with the love of my life, Corrina, and our awesome puppy, Dusty. Matt and I met when we were taking our first drawing classes in art school. I started shooting photography with Matt and we’ve been close friends since. I’m a fun and outgoing guy, and I’d love to get to know you! Here’s a little about me…
I grew up in a very large family (I’ve got 38 cousins that live all around the world!) that came to Georgia from Ecuador, South America, and I was lucky to have such a huge network of support when it came to the arts. My mother was a chef and owned a restaurant in her country, and several of my uncles are successful painters and musicians.
I would say that Spanish culture has greatly influenced my style as well as my personality, but I must have missed the day where they taught us how to dance because I have two left feet! I love to cook, draw and paint, and there’s rarely an occasion where you won’t find me taking pictures. I enjoy lazy Sundays with a craft beer and a good book, but I especially love cozying up with my family and reading Calvin and Hobbes. I guess I’m just an adventuring spaceman at heart. – Dan
