The Art Of iPhoneography iPhone Photography Part II

With the changing seasons I thought now would be a great time for a new iPhoneography post. If you missed the last one, you can check it out here. With the release of the new iPhone 4S, iPhoneography is getting even better! I personally love the size and image quality the new iPhone brings.

The iPhone is probably one of my favorite cameras simply because I always have it with me. It allows me to capture things I see everyday from everywhere I go. It’s like a photographic journal of my adventures though life that I can look back on. Another great aspect for me is it forces me to always look for that one awesome photo, to continuously see things differently, and to always be ready for that one great moment.

Continuously shooting photos with my phone has also proven to be a great learning tool as well. I learn to slow down and really notice things like textures, leading lines, shapes, movement, rhythm, and other principals of art that I then include in other areas of photography. Consistently noticing these things helps me to more naturally include them in all of my photography without always having to consoniously thinking about it.

With all the great photography apps out there, that increases the level of fun and sharing! Two of my most used and favorite apps are Camera + and Instagram. If you are on Instagram be sure to connect with me @matthewdruin. I’m always looking to follow new people and find new sources of inspiration.

Are you an iPhone or cell phone camera lover too? What cool apps and tools are you using?

I actually started with Hipstamatic a long while ago, but really like Instagram better. I do like some of the filters in Hipstamtic though. Thanks for taking a look and the reply.ReplyCancel
