Stephanie and Justin met through a blind date set up by their family members. Little did they know that from the first date sharing pizza they would end up on a beautiful farm getting married in the countryside of Georgia. From the horses and chickens to the barn, Perry’s Landing offered the perfect rustic feel for a spring Georgia farm wedding. Once we arrived and got out of the car, it was great not being able to hear anything aside from a few animals. No cars or hustle of people desperately scrambling to get to work, just a relaxing silence.
Both the girls and the guys got ready in the quaint country house on the property, so it was a slight challenge ensuring neither crossed paths before the first look, but we managed to make it happen with a little planning. As the girls focused on getting every detail perfect, the guys spent most of their time hanging out on the front porch. When everyone was ready, Stephanie and Justin met in the middle of a small pasture to see each other for the first time.
The guest began to arrive shortly before the ceremony was set to start and everyone quickly got into place. The sun flickered through the wind-blown trees as the music started and the bridal parties began their ascent towards the altar. Stephanie was walked down the aisle by her parents as Justin waited patiently. Stephanie wrote her own vows to Justin and although he remained strong on the outside, on the inside, he was touched. With an exchange of rings and a prayer, they were pronounced husband and wife. alta
After the ceremony, everyone made their way to the rustic barn not too far from the ceremony location. The inside was fully decorated with personal touches from both Stephanie and Justin. The bridal party and newly married couple danced their way into the barn as they were introduced to the crowd of guests. With the couple’s first dance and cake cutting, the reception started into full swing. A lot of conversation, some great food, and even a little dancing was had by all. Once the evening came to an end, Stephanie and Justin made their grand exit illuminated with sparklers which played nicely with the warm tones of the barn.
The sky that night was perfectly clear without a single cloud in the sky. Since we just so happened to be in the middle of nowhere with little to no ambient light, I grabbed Stephanie and Justin for a little extra portrait time. I’ve wanted to do a star portrait for a long while, but the right combination of clear sky, location, and timing has eluded me until then. The extra effort was worth it and we ended up with an amazing portrait complete with a shooting star.
Congratulations to Stephanie and Justin!! Here are a few of my favorite photos from the day! :D
