An Intimate Destination New York Fusion Indian Wedding

Yeshna went on to explain that she lived in Canada, her fiancé Abhinav lived in California, and they were planning a destination wedding in New York. Crazy sauce! Planning a wedding is hard, but their situation definitely made it much harder. Nonetheless, they pulled it off beautifully. We spoke via Skype a number of times, but the first time I got to meet Yeshna and Abhinav was during their engagement session in New York City. As I expected, they are both completely amazing people. They are always filled with joy, an adventurous spirit, and love spending every second with each other.

Dan and I spent most of the day before the wedding photographing the Mehendi ceremony where Yeshna spent much of the time having henna applied. When she was finished, she joined Abhinav, hanging out, dancing, and celebrating with their family and friends. The wedding day was incredible! Guests came from near and far, from all parts of the world…literally, to celebrate. You could feel the amount of passion and love from everyone surrounding Yeshna and Abhinav. We were welcomed right in and treated like just another member of the family. One of the most special touches I really liked was Yeshna wore the same saree her mother did for her wedding. We also replicated a couple of the getting ready photos from her mother’s wedding. Bride getting makeup at destination New York fusion Indian weddingBride getting makeup at destination New York fusion Indian weddingThe rest of the day moved even faster than the first part. Everyone was cheering, hugging, dancing, laughing, and crying non-stop. There was never a time without a moment for us to capture. At some points, there were so many awesome things going on it was hard to decide which to focus on. During the reception and about the only semi-calm time during the day, a slideshow highlighting Yeshna and Abhinav’s lives was played while family and friends commented on each photo. It was a really special touch and we loved having the opportunity to get to know them in such an intimate way.

We worked hard, non-stop, and photographed our hearts out. By the end of the weekend we were sore and exhausted, but loved ever minute of it! Yeshna and Abhinav, congratulations and thank you for including us in such an incredible time in your lives. You both are truly rad people and we loved celebrating and capturing all of the emotions of your wedding day.
