A few days ago I had the pleasure of meeting up with Megan and Austin again for their destination engagement session in Savannah, Georgia. In case you missed it, Austin proposed to Megan recently! Obviously, she said yes. :D You can catch up on their engagement story on the blog at A Georgia Winter Wedding Proposal.
Megan & Austin met about three years ago while Austin was visiting his dad, but they didn’t actually start dating until this year. Megan asked Austin to join her along with some other friends for Karaoke. Austin agreed and made the two and half hour trip to meet her only to quickly realize that she meant only as friends. When he arrived, Megan’s boyfriend was there, so that made it pretty obvious. Not to be discouraged, Austin decided to do what any guy would do, he had a few drinks and sang Bennie and the Jets with Megan.
Austin’s voice must have been magical that night, because within months they started dating. While doing some volunteer work together on their church Kingdom Hall, they were cooped up in the attic working for a week. Austin said, “You get to know someone really well when you’re shut up in a tiny space and begin to really love or really dislike someone.” Fortunately for them, love was what was really built in that attic. ;)
We deiced to meet at 9am in Savannah, so that meant I had to head out from Atlanta at 2:45am. Luckily traveling that early in the morning, you bypass all the potential traffic headaches and there’s also a lot more time to drink even more coffee! We met down on River Street and spent most of our time taking advantage of the great historical buildings.
Megan and Austin are both big fans of Savannah and are also having their wedding there, so what better place for their engagement session! Megan LOVES Gone With The Wind and brought her first edition that Austin bought for her for their engagement session. In fact, much of her wedding planning and details are actually inspired by Gone With The Wind.
Here are a few of my favorites from their session!
Amazing job! So cute.
A couple of real love birds. :)
Super cute! I love them all!
