Back in 2001, a shy guy arrived at a new high school and was introduced to a beautiful young girl named Maria. Although Kyle didn’t say much, they locked eyes, and that was all that was needed. After they had dated on and off for a number of years, fate brought the two together one final time. After Kyle had joined the Army, he was stationed in Hawaii. While he was away, Kyle and Maria had many a long conversations by phone. Maria finally made the decision to pack up and move to Hawaii.
Kyle knew Maria was the one for him before she even decided to move out to Hawaii. Two short months after she arrived, Kyle was deployed to Iraq. Three quarters of the way through Kyle’s deployment he decided to purchase the ring. The proposal came later in Miami while on a week vacation. After the first night they arrived, Kyle woke Maria up early to check out the amazing view. As she stared out into the sea, Kyle got down on one knee behind her and as she turned around, asked her to marry him. Obviously she said YES, and that brings us to their amazing wedding day.
Maria and Kyle both got ready at the Marriott hotel, but on separate floors. Laughter filled both floors as everyone got ready. Some tears were also shed as Maria got into her beautiful wedding dress from Ines Di Santo. The two met for the first look at a local park close to the venue, The Atrium, in Norcross. Maria and Kyle purchased giant balloons to use in some of their photos and luckily we had a bus to bring us and the balloons to the park. Design coordinator Sara Gagnon and wedding planner Katie Goldberg helped lay the path for A Divine Event to handle setting up the catering and all of the details as well as providing all of the floral arrangements.
The ceremony started shortly after we all arrived at The Atrium. Guests made their way into the ceremony yard just as the sun began to set. Mr Business, Maria & Kyle’s awesome pooch, made his grand entrance letting everyone know his humans were getting married. :) Maria’s father walked her down the aisle and bittersweetly gave her away to Kyle. The rest of the ceremony was just as romantic and Maria and Kyle were married with the setting sun.
Once the ceremony was over, the party began. Their was no shortage of people trying to show off their best dance moves on the floor and Rich from Black Tie Affair had no problem keeping the music coming. The candy bar also was a huge hit and I ate a number of Airheads. For Thank You gifts, Maria and Kyle supplied everyone with “Hangover Kits”, which I’m sure a number of people needed since a bus was supplied to make sure everyone arrived back at the hotel safely. As guests left they were also told to grab pouches filled with coffee beans from Hawaii. Being a coffee connoisseur myself, I took a few, and I must say it was delicious.
Here are a few of my favorite photos from their romantic love story wedding! Congratulations to Maria and Kyle!!
