South Carolina has almost been a second home to me this year. Not that I’ve actually lived there, but I’ve probably shot half my weddings this year somewhere there. Kind of strange, but I’m not complaining, I really like it. Jeri & Tony’s wedding was no different. They had their wonderful destination Columbia South Carolina wedding at The River Road & Jasmine Houses & Gardens. I know! That’s a looonnnggg name. ;)
The day started with Dan and I arriving at our hotel. We decided to check in and relax before really getting started after the four hour drive. When we arrived at the first house, there was two as well as two gardens, it’s in the venue name, all we heard was excitement coming from behind a curtain. We took a peek to see bridesmaids running around in a small frenzy. Jeri was surround by her amazing friends and family as she was finishing up her final touch up before getting into her dress. Things moved quickly, as most all weddings do, and we were soon setting up for Jeri and Tony to have their first look.
The ceremony was in the garden area which was surrounded by large bamboo and other plants. It was almost like a little oasis in the middle of the city. After the ceremony everyone moved quickly to the second house where the reception was being held in order to avoid the heat. Beer and a custom concoction Jeri and Tony came up with was served with other treats. A few drinks, a few toasts, and some awesome photo booth photos later, the party rocked the dance floor. DJ Frank Reece was there to keep the flow on scratching some real vinyl. I was pretty stoked about that. No one seems to use vinyl anymore.
A great venue, a bamboo oasis ceremony, custom wedding drinks, and real vinyl equals a pretty amazing Columbia South Carolina wedding. Congratulations Jeri & Tony!
