When I first met Kathryn and Kyle I knew we were meant to be based on two words, haunted houses. Kathryn loves haunted houses and Kyle lovingly plays along. They even made it a part of their engagement session! Describing Kathryn and Kyle’s wedding as simply a wedding would be an understatement. It was a true experience that directly reflected their personalities. Their focus was on celebrating their commitment to each other, creating a festival wedding feeling for their friends and family, and lots of fun. They definitely accomplished all of these things with great success!
The day started with getting ready at The Walking Dead house. Yes! That is legitly a real thing and what it’s called. A house owned by Carl himself that he calls The Walking Dead House. As a bonus, it’s filled with tons of amazing fan art and props from the show. The whole morning was a constant string of laughter, smiles, and excitement. Add in some foosball and arcade games and you’ve got a recipe for awesomeness. After an tear-filled first look, things moved to Cheek Creek Event Center which is a rad farm type property complete with a large barn nestled in the woods and a flowing creek right next to the ceremony site.
The ceremony was an emotional up and down roller coaster from laughter to tears of joy seemingly the whole time, but it also had a very tranquil feeling. Between their vows, you could actually hear and feel the rustle of trees blowing in the wind and the creek that flowed behind them.
For the reception, Kathryn and Kyle included so many amazing things to make their day uniquely them and entertaining for all including a Smores bar by an open fire in the woods, giant yard games, an ice cream truck, llamas, a photo booth, a caricature drawing station, and so much more. It was a true fall festival wedding with a carnival vibe.
During the day, and honestly anytime they are together, you can really see the love Kathryn and Kyle for each other. I consistently saw them holding hands, kissing, hugging, laughing together, and just being close in any way possible. One of my favorite things to do was to watch Kyle’s reactions to whatever wacky thing Kathryn did or said. Lol.
They are truly meant to be together and a great compliment to each other. They remind me of my wife and me. Kathryn is super adventurous, outgoing, and curious (that would be me) and Kyle is a little more steady and down to earth (that’d be my wife). We all need a sense of balance in life and there’s no better way to go about it than having an amazing partner that compliments you perfectly.
