A Destination Tennessee Mountain Elopement Gatlinburg Wedding

Schyler and Jamie’s elopement Gatlinburg wedding is an extra special one for me since Schyler is my wife’s cousin. I was thrilled and honored when they reached out to have me document their day! It’s also kind of a doubled edge sword when I’m asked by close family and friends to document their weddings. On one hand, it’s a huge honor and on the other, there always seems to be an extra layer of pressure I put on myself. Fortunately, their wedding was amazing.

My wife and the rest of the family decided to turn their wedding into a mini vacation, so we all arrived a few days before to get settled into our cabin in the Appalachian Mountains of Tennesse outside of Gatlinburg. It was nice taking a break from the city life to enjoy a little silence. On the day of the wedding I woke up at 4 am to ride bikes with family through the mountainside since Schyler and Jamie’s wedding was starting later in the day. It was a really relaxing way to start the day, explore the mountains and get some extra exercise in.

After cleaning up I made my way to their cabin where everyone was beginning to get ready. Being a smaller wedding, things went by much quicker. With the final touches of makeup, putting on the dress, and a quick glance in the mirror we were off to the ceremony before I knew it. The ceremony was held on the edge of cliff area overlooking the vast mountain range. The weather was hot, but the view was incredible and perfect for a wedding.

Smiles shined just as bright as the sun as Schyler and her father walked down the aisle where they met Jamie. Vows were exchanged and a sand ceremony was completed before the first kiss sealed their commitment to each other. Afterward, we all made our way back to the cabin for dinner and drinks to celebrate. Here are some of my favorite photos from Schyler and Jamie’s elopement Gatlinburg wedding in the mountains of Tenneesse.
