I had the honor to join Darby and Kimbra for their destination engagement at Edisto Island beach in South Carolina. Meeting through their passion for sports, they crossed paths at a softball clinic in college, and fell head over heels. Sunday morning coffee is one of Darby and Kimbra’s favorite things to do together. One Sunday, a special coffee cup sat by the coffee machine that read, “Good morning  beautiful. Will you marry me?”. Obviously the answer was YES!, and here we are at this amazing beach. These two were truely incredible to photograph! Their excitement for life, laughter, passion, and love for each other shined through the whole time. We spent about three to four hours taking in all of the seemingly never-ending scenery Edisto Island had to offer. The entrance starts with a Spanish moss dirt road which leads miles into the island. Then a mile walk through the marshland drops you off onto the beach which is littered with tons of petrified trees. There was an eeriness to the island since there was no sound except a slight wind blowing through the trees and the occasional bird. Once you reached the beach, all you heard was the ocean crashing on shore. Living in Atlanta, I’m used to always hearing cars, music, fans, and other urban unrest. It was actually really nice to get away from the hustle of the city. I arrived extra early to the island to do a little planning for the shoot and sat in the middle of the marsh listening to nothing for thirty minutes.
