Yesterday I took a trip to DragonCon 2011 in downtown Atlanta, Georgia to check out the auction. It is DragonCon’s 25th anniversary! I needed a break from work, so I figured it would be a fun opportunity. I didn’t actually go to the convention, although I’m sure it would have been fun, but I did make the parade. Typically when I go to events like this, I’m not really going for the event, but more for the people and things happening.
I noticed that some people really get into DragonCon, I mean REALLY get into it. From their costumes, to the roll they play, they are truly in another world. That made it really cool, not just for the event itself, but also for the spectators as well. Other people, not so much. They would be in some type of costume, but not really engaged in the character they are portraying. It seemed more like Halloween to them, without the tricks or treats.
Here are a few images from the parade, well, more of the people at the parade. :D Enjoy!
