When it comes to agreeing to photograph a couple’s wedding day, many things come into play. One of them being how well we mesh with the couple. From our first meeting, I knew Bethany and Stefan were totally rad people. After we hung out for a couple of days and we photographed their New York City engagement session, my feelings were confirmed. As a bonus, they were getting married at the Fernbank Museum, which has been on the top of our list of venues to photograph at! Recently we had the pleasure of joining them for their Fernbank Museum wedding and it was one for the history books! See that history / museum pun I did there. ;) Both Bethany and Stefan live in New York City, but wanted to have their wedding here in Atlanta. Planning a wedding is hard, but planning long distance is even harder. Needless to say, they did an amazing job at it.
Bethany and Stefan’s incredible wedding started off early in the morning getting ready at the Hilton Atlanta were everyone was busy with hair, makeup, and getting everything put together for the big day. More than anything, both Bethany and Stefan were looking forward to seeing each other for the first time and getting married. After everyone was ready to rock, we headed to the Fernbank Museum were they had their first look by a giant Stegosaurus. Of course we included plenty of time for creative portraits afterwards. We made our way around the light-filled Fernbank Museum taking advantage of all the amazing architecture, light, shadows, and other fun things the museum had to offer. It was like a giant playground!
Afterwards, Bethany and Stefan retired to a relaxing area to prepare for the ceremony while we photographed the reception area, details, and guests as they arrived. The ceremony started sweet and led to tears from Bethany and guests. I’m pretty sure Stefan also had one or two, but one thing is for sure, I’ve never seen bigger smiles from everyone. The party quickly started soon after as everyone made their way quickly to the bar and explored parts of the museum. Once Bethany and Stefan were introduced, the dance floor filled up and the energy level filled the whole place! Bethany and Stefan, what can we say? Thank you for trusting us! Here’s the story of your Fernbank Museum wedding day, as seen and felt through our eyes and our hearts.
