Ashley and Tyler decided to keep their wedding simple and elegant with a romantic Georgia lakeside wedding at Crooked Creek Marina in Eatonton, Georgia. They used DIY inspiration to add special touches that really showcased their personalities……just the way all awesome weddings should be! From Ashley’s cowboy boots to the straw bouquets, it was all them. To top it off, the ring box and arbor were actually handmade by Ashley’s grandfather of cedar wood from her great grandmother’s mantle!
Both Ashley and Tyler were able to get ready at their parent’s lake houses making it much more personal…and easier. As Ashley’s bridesmaids helped her getting ready with hair and makeup, Tyler and the groomsmen were finished in typical guy fashion of ten minutes. They spent the rest of their time just hanging out and enjoying time with family and friends before the ceremony.
As we made our way closer to the ceremony the sky began to get pretty cloudy but cleared up quick right before the ceremony. The morning rain soaked the ceremony site, but that didn’t stop anyone from stomping right through the soggy grass. We also have no problems getting soaked or muddy in order to capture awesome photos. We actually eat mud, so it works out good. On that note: we also have no problem talking hotel clerks into potentially getting fired by giving us keys to their canoes for your photos either!
The wedding reception was held at the local marina restaurant, Bone Island Grill, with tons of amazing food to feast on. My personal favorites were the cupcakes, S’mores, and beer. The reception rocked…literally…as a live band ripped away while the guest drank and danced the night away. Here are some of my favorite photos from their Georgia lakeside wedding.
