If you think attending a birthday party filled with a train ride to the poolside, a petting zoo with alligators, monkeys, kangaroos, a giraffe (yes…a giraffe!), seemingly unlimited flavors of ice cream, liquor, candy, an arcade, mariachi band, fireworks display, and even a unicorn, is just the making of a fairytale, you’d be wrong. Hal spent months planning an over the top unicorn themed poolside birthday party and surprise Wedding Proposal for his amazing girlfriend Rosa. He had dozens of friends and family helping him plan every detail possible and it turned out to be incredible!
As guests arrived they were tracked into the party by a train and greeted by zoo animals. Bowls of candy and treats lined the path as they made their way to the pool. Music filled the air and the entire scene was covered in unicorns. Everyone enjoyed the pool, hot tub filled with bubbles, petting various zoo animals, great food, refreshing drinks, amazing conversation and plenty of laughter for everyone.
What many people including Rosa didn’t know is that Hal had secretly used the celebration as a cover for his surprise wedding proposal. As the sun fell across the sky everyone gathered around as Rosa was sung Happy Birth in both Spanish and English. Just then a real-life unicorn made her way through the crowd. Ok, so maybe I’m stretching the truth a little and it wasn’t a “real” unicorn, but it’s definitely as close as you can get. The surprise on Rosa’s face was priceless, but the real shock came just moments later. Hal picked up Rosa’s gift from the unicorn, bent down on one knee, and proposed right then and there. A flood of emotions overcame Rosa, as well as, the guests.
The rest of the evening had just as much energy. From the catered dinner, the mariachi band, dancing, fireworks display, laughter, tears, and giant smiles covered everyone’s face as the celebration continued late into the night. This unicorn fairytale birthday party turned surprise wedding proposal was nothing short of absolutely incredible and an experience I’ll never forget.
