The Chimneys At Big Canoe wedding with Jessica and Parke was an amazing destination wedding deep in the Georgia mountains. We started our morning driving through the mountains to Jessica’s cabin. Some of the back roads of the mountains are pretty sketchy to say the least and many had what seemed to be 70 degree inclines making it pretty hard and slow climbing to the top. Once we arrived we were greeted by Jessica’s bridal party laughing historically with the bride as they got ready in the cabin.
The views from the top of the cabin were incredible even with the overcast sky of the morning. You could literally see nothing but tree tops for miles! Later we made our way over to Parke and his groomsmen getting ready just a few miles away. Things seemed much calmer with the guys compared to the girls. I think Parke was just a little nervous as time got closer to the ceremony. :)
Once the guys finished getting ready they do what most guys do, sat around joking and having a few drinks. The sky cleared up nicely as we got closer to the ceremony time. Jessica and Parke met for their first look down a hillside of the ceremony location. With a great view of the lake and being surrounded by the tall trees, it seemed like the perfect location. Both Jessica and Parke were VERY excited to see each other for the first time. Many members of their family and friends all watched as Jessica made her way over to Parke and he turned around.
After the first look, Jessica and Parke couldn’t stay away from each other and spent much of their time whispering things to each other and chatting with their guests. Once the ceremony started Parke and his groomsmen made their way to the front, while Jessica and her bridesmaids patiently waited for their moment to enter. The entire ceremony was made up of sweet words, a few tears, and lots of laughter. All of which were a common theme throughout their entire wedding day.
Once at the reception everyone enjoyed drinks and snacks at the cocktail hour. After Jessica and Parke’s first dance, a few speeches were made including a very touching one from Jessica’s daughter which brought tears to many of the guests and Jessica. Jessica’s bridesmaids gave their speech together, well….sang together. They combined parts of a variety of songs in a clever way to get their points across. Then Jessica herself sang a song to Parke, and she was AMAZING!
Everyone continued the celebration with dancing, eating, drinking and playing games thanks to Atlanta’s Talk of The Town while the Nelson Brownstone band kept the music rocking all night. Jessica’s family and friends loved her singing so much that she sang a few more songs throughout the evening. They left the reception with 100s of rose petals being thrown into the air. Well actually, many of the petals were more like pelted by the kids as Jessica and Parke made their way to their ballon filled getaway vehicle.
Their wedding was really incredible and we had an awesome time! Here are some of my favorite photos from their The Chimneys At Big Canoe Wedding. A big congratulations to Jessica and Parke! :D
